Boiling point: 68.8°C (approximately 194.9°F); melting point: 43°C. Solubility: Soluble in water, ethanol, ether, and other organic solvents, but with relatively low water solubility. It is flammable when exposed to an open flame and decomposes upon heating to produce chloride gas. It reacts with oxidizing agents, strong bases, and strong acids.
Uses: Primarily used as a solvent or reactant in organic synthesis. In industrial and scientific research fields, it serves as a solvent or reactant and is widely used in organic synthesis.
